Airline ESA Letter Policy – Lufthansa (2025 Guide)

Lufthansa follows European regulations and no longer recognizes Emotional Support Animals as service animals.

Lufthansa Pet Travel Policy:

• Pets allowed in the cabin (under 8kg with carrier)
• ESA letters not recognized
• Service dogs permitted with documentation
• Larger animals must travel in cargo
