Just Big Dogs began with Maxie, our first big dog, a spirited Boxer with endless energy, fierce loyalty, and a heart bigger than her size. During some of the hardest years of our lives, through personal loss, IVF heartbreak, business challenges, financial stress, and the uncertainty of COVID, Maxie became more than our dog. She became our anchor.

When Maxie became sick with cancer, we saw how difficult it was to find trusted resources made specifically for large breed dogs and the families who love them. Durable gear, breed-aware health guidance, emotional support information, training help, and a real community for big dog owners all felt scattered, generic, or missing.

After losing Maxie, we later met Nova, our German Shepherd, and felt that same powerful connection again. Nova helped us heal in a different season of life and reminded us why the bond between people and their dogs is so much deeper than ownership. Big dogs protect us, comfort us, ground us, and often carry us through moments we cannot carry alone.

That is why we created Just Big Dogs: a mission-driven resource and community built for large breed dogs and the people who depend on them. From trusted guidance and emotional support resources to durable products and professional connections, everything we build is rooted in one belief — big dogs deserve better support, and so do their families.
